Good evening, folks. We hope this holiday season has been a pleasant one so far. For our part, this is a time filled with uncertainty, but also with excitement. For two years, Chemical Edge has existed as a seven piece band. After much deliberation, we have decided to continue as a quintet.
We did not come to this decision lightly. During the past year, our pace and enthusiasm had begun to flag. We were unable to solve this problem in our previous incarnation. We were faced with various options, including breaking up. Obviously, that did not appeal to us. We decided to make some changes instead.
Adapting to the five piece format will not be easy for us. We have been road testing various songs for the next record. Those songs will be revisited and revised to fit the new format. Our outlook is nothing but optimistic. Our new challenges will be musical ones. Those are the challenges we handle best.
We are now a leaner, meaner Chemical Edge. We have a drive that we haven’t felt since the early days. This is unknown territory for us. We hope you’ll bear with us as we adjust to the new way of doing things. Our next few shows will be an opportunity for us to get our sea legs. We hope you’ll come out and show your support.
Our next show will be at the Loft on January 9th. We’ve included the flyer below. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your holiday. We sincerely appreciate all of you. Good night.
